(1886-1962)
American Yiddish poet and dramatist. He was born in Igumen, Belorussia. He was active in revolu-tionary politics and was exiled to Siberia as a result. He escaped to the US in 1913, where he worked in a sweatshop and as a paper-hanger. His writings include Der goylem, Shmates, In Treblinka bin ich ni geven and Di chasene in fernvald.
